GPS tracking for school buses

School bus GPS tracking for schools and operators: geofence arrival alerts, 40 km/h overspeed alerts, route stop reports, parent view, AIS-140 compliance records and document expiry reminders.

A school is responsible for its buses whether it owns them or hires them. Parents expect to see the bus, the transport committee expects a record of speed and route, and the RTO expects an AIS-140 device with a current certificate. Most schools handle this with phone calls to the driver.

SaralTrack gives the transport in-charge every bus on one map, records arrivals at the school gate and at each stop, alerts on speed and route deviation, and keeps the compliance papers for each bus with reminders before they expire. Parents can get a view of the bus their child rides, under the school’s own name.

What school buses ask us

The problems this solves

Where is the bus right now

Live map with every bus, its speed and the next stop. The front desk answers the parent in ten seconds instead of calling the driver.

Speed and the 40 km/h rule

Overspeed alerts with location and time, and a monthly report per bus and driver for the transport committee.

Skipped stops and late arrivals

Geofences on the school and each route stop. The visit report shows which stops were covered and when the bus reached the gate.

AIS-140 and fitness paperwork

Each bus carries its AIS-140 record, certificate expiry, fitness, insurance and permit dates. Reminders go out 15 days before anything lapses.

Hired buses

Operators’ buses join the school’s account with a device or with the operator’s existing one, so the school sees the same data the operator does.

Questions about school buses

Call us on [PHONE] or write to [EMAIL]. We answer the same day.

Can parents track their child’s bus?

Yes. The school can give parents the live position of their child’s bus and arrival messages, branded with the school’s name on a white label plan.

Is GPS compulsory on school buses?

School buses are public service vehicles and need an AIS-140 certified tracking device in most states; education departments separately require schools to track buses. See our guide to the rules.

What about buses we hire from an operator?

The school can get a login to the operator’s buses, or fit its own devices. Either way the school sees the live map, alerts and reports.
